About

Brendan Owens, LMFT

My approach to therapy is based on a belief that everyone can benefit from a confidential and supportive atmosphere in which to explore life's challenges.  Adolescence, young adulthood, marriage and parenting present unique situations for self-evaluation and new interpersonal relationships.  My goal is to provide compassionate guidance in a relaxed environment to those facing personal difficulties as well as the families that support them.

Offering a judgement free venue for honest emotional exploration opens the door to growth and healing.

I work primarily with adolescents, young adults, parents, couples and families.  Many of my clients are young males and their families seeking support to navigate today's world and the issues of life's transitions.  Anxiety, anger, social challenges and communication skills are common issues addressed in therapy.

I also offer specialized sessions to teens and young adults on the autism spectrum or with ADHD.   A systematic approach to develop appropriate tools for navigating specific challenges is sometimes utilized.

Originally from the Washington DC area, I have lived in Austin since 1996.  I received my Master's degree in Counseling from St. Edwards University in 2010 and have had the privilege of working with therapists at C2Change, a non-profit mental health organization.

I offer individual, couples, family and group therapy options and welcome the chance to discuss the best fit for you, your child or your family.
